I am a British photographer currently residing in the US. I discovered photography in Singapore in 2004 where I spent the next four years learning the craft and for a time, shot professionally. I now I live in Seattle WA and work in the software indsutry. I am not a full time photographer. Photography for me is a hobby, an intense passion, but I have no ambitions to make it a profession.
My photographic journey can be described in three periods;
- The early days. Learning and discovering. Starting simple with a photo-a-day project and evolving into “Narrative Photography”. This is best covered in my work Fragments.
- My professional exploits. I stumbled into the world of professional photography and while I produced some of my favourite work during this time (on the set of The Contender), I was unable to sustain a passion for photography when I was getting paid for it.
- Current. Since moving to the US, my photographic style has evolved substantially to match the changing environment. This is best represented in Horizons and Natural Minimalism
In Singapore was regularly published, appearing in the Straits Times, Business Times, Asian Geographic, PhotoVideoi, Marketing Interactive, FILE magazine, International Kickboxer Magazine, 8 Days, Today paper, The Bangkok Post and New Man. In 2007, I was the Official Photographer on the hit TV show The Contender Asia, produced by Imagine Omnimedia / Mark Burnett Productions (Survivor, The Apprentice) which aired across Asia on AXN. The following year, I was the Official Photographer on The Contender, Season 4, which aired on Versus in the US in 2008 / 2009.
These days, I photograph things that interest me, or take photos of foster dogs for charity. I am not available for professional work but am always very interested in philanthropic endeavors or collaborative / artistic projects.
